High schools and vocational centers often do not adequately prepare students for the working world. Our workshops are here to fill that gap and give kids the skills they need to get the job.
One of my passions in life is to help drive people to success in their careers – to help young people develop and progress into all that they can be. I feel, though, that career development is one area our high schools and vocational centers do not sufficiently address, leaving students without the key skills needed to navigate their career recruitment and search. That’s where AmpUp comes in, bringing job search and interview skills for high school students to the forefront.
Through our career coaching workshops, we help students at high schools and career technology centers, as well as recent graduates, learn such important life skills as:
The You’re Hired program is presented as a four-hour coaching workshop in which the student learns all the above skills and more. On top of our knowledge, program participants also have access to resources that will make their job pursuit process easier.
In addition to walking away with a new library of job skills and career search tips, participants can enter a learning portal filled with vocational-related content and skills-building exercises. They also become part of a statewide network that connects them with businesses.
